Predictions

PENDING. This page has no editorial text yet.

Nothing is posted here yet

This site does not publish predictions today. It is named for them and it will, and the gap between those two sentences is deliberate rather than embarrassing.

A prediction page carries a date in its title. A page that carries a date it cannot keep current is worse than an absent page, because a reader who arrives on Tuesday and finds Saturday's card has no way of knowing what else on the site is stale.

What has to exist first

A fixture feed that updates without anybody remembering to update it, and a settlement step that writes the result beside the prediction whether or not anyone is looking. Those two, in that order.

Until both are running, everything on this site is the kind of fact that does not go off in a week: who licenses whom, what a footer says, what a rail costs, what a bonus demands.

The rule, committed to in advance

A prediction goes up with the time it was posted and the price available at that moment, gets its outcome written beside it once the match is settled, and stays on the page either way.

Committing to that now, while there is nothing to protect, is the only moment at which the commitment is free. The archive rules are on the record page and they were written the same day as this one.
